Round 1 of the first ever UK Truggy National championship took place last weekend at the new Max Bashing track in the south of England. This championship is set to be just as big as the 1/8th off-road, with every round this year full already.

Having not been to the track before I didn\'t know what to expect. Upon arrival we were met with a fantastic, very well prepared track that looked really fun to drive, it had lots of large jumps, and tricky rhythm sections.

Having not run the truggy before I was not expecting too much. To my surprise it was very agile and responsive and jumped very well. I immediately felt relaxed with it and worried about learning the track.

At the end of qualifying I have managed to take TQ with a time that was 12 seconds faster than 2nd place.

Brennan Ralls also managed to make the A final with some great driving and qualified 6th.

I had a terrible start to the main final, with a silly mistake by myself and a bit of hard pushing by other drivers. I crossed the line on lap 1 in last place and a huge amount down on the leaders. After the next couple of laps I had settled into a rhythm and started to climb the field. By lap 20 I was back in second place and had cut the gap to 1st to 4 seconds. Unfortunately for him he had a cut at the end of the straight and I regained the lead. Enjoying driving the Truggy so much I continued to push hard and really through it around. Eventually the 30-minute final came to an end and I took the victory finishing over a lap up on 2nd place.

Bren finished 5th with a solid drive, backing up the pace of the XT8.

As a team we worked on a set up that really was awesome. This will be available for download soon.
